This home, completed in 2006, is situated directly on the ocean along Alabama's coast. It offers vacationers the best there is to enjoy a quiet, relaxed time on the beach. The home was the featured home on HGTV's My Lottery Dream Home Season 1, Episode 9. The home has been specifically designed to cater to all those little things you would have wanted in order to provide for a hassle free time on the beach--including deck chairs, beach towels, and all the basic kitchen amenities.
The home consists of 3 bedrooms ( 1 king, 1 queen, 2 twins). There is also a queen sleeper sofa in the living room. There are 2 baths inside (1 with shower, 1 with tub/shower combo). An outdoor bath and shower is located on the lower deck. It is fully private and has both hot and cold water.
There is a TV located in each bedroom and also in the living room. Wifi is also provided. A DVD player is located in the living room, and a sampling of movies is provided.
The home features open plan living, with the kitchen, living, and dining all composing one large room with a commanding view of the ocean. Dolphins can often been seen right from this room.
Off of this main living area, you will find a large deck overlooking the ocean which is perfect for lounging and watching the waves. Rocking chairs and lounge chairs are provided, along with a picnic table. A portion of the deck is covered, so it can be enjoyed even in the heat of the day. A staircase off of the deck leads you right down to the beach--with no walkways or boardwalks to cross. It is truly beachfront.
Mainstay Cottage is rented on a weekly basis most of the year with turn over days on Saturday only. It is rented on a monthly basis December through February. Check in is 3 pm and check out is 9 am.

Summary: The house on the beach is wonderful!! The owner does a great job in keeping the house clean and updated. The kitchen is well stocked with everything needed. The beach chairs and umbrellas are also wonderful. It's close to good restaurants too! Very comfortable house. We plan to keep coming!!

Summary: Our annual four generations beach vacation at Mainstay Cottage was fabulous! The house was clean and in great condition. The location was perfect for us! We definitely appreciated the outdoor shower for our little ones! The house is awesome in every aspect!

Summary: This is the first house, we have rented, that was better than the photos. We loved everything about this place. It is very clean and extremely well taken care of. Great views, and close access to the beach. Lots of shade on the upper deck. The rooms are large, and the bathrooms are very nice. We highly recommend. Thank you for letting us share this awesome home!

Summary: 100% perfect! Location is great, property was clean, easy to get to and had everything we needed for our stay. My family if 4 took advantage of provided movies & games. Outdoor bathroom/shower and hoses to rinse off sand are so helpful and in all the right places. We collected shells, went looking for crabs and used all the provided beach supplies.we cooked breakfast in each day and had everything we needed in the kitchen. Couldn’t have asked for anything more!

Summary: We rent this beach house from Pete every year. It’s the perfect family gathering place- very open and clean and beautifully decorated with a stocked large kitchen. Gorgeous views of the beach, whether you’re inside the great room, the well appointed porch or at the nearby beach. Pete has thought of everything. Underneath is ample parking, a picnic table & a porch swing. A storage room holds chairs, umbrellas & beach toys & there’s even an enclosed outdoor shower area. Pete & his team are lovely to work with!
